The Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Dublin Bay 21 Footers Association to introduce you to sailing on classic yachts which first set sail on Dublin Bay in 1903.
The association are the proud owners of all seven yachts ever built and are lovingly restoring each boat. Currently three are back afloat and now’s the time to allow for you to explore your curiosity and experience sailing on as it was 100 years ago.
The restoration project has so far returned Estelle, Naneen and Garavogue to the water. You can follow the full restoration progress on the association’s facebook page.
We welcome all previous experience levels, from none to expert. Regardless of sailing background, we’ll get the group fully involved in all aspects of sailing these unique 21 footers, from hoisting sails, to steering and setting the rigging. Up to 4 guests can be welcomed onto each boat.
The programme runs on Wednesday evenings from 6-9pm. Groups meet at our West Pier Clubhouse where you’ll be kitted out with everything you’ll need, including waterproof overalls and lifejackets. You’ll need to bring a few items with you, to include;
Upon arrival at our clubhouse, you’ll be introduced to the skipper and their mate, we’ll get kitted out and head straight out to the boats. The experience is not just about the sailing, we want to share with you the unique history of the vessels and allow you plenty of time to admire the craftsmanship involved.
We sail every Wednesday evening from 6-9pm.
Does one of the above slots not suit you? That’s not a problem. Give us a call or drop us an email and we’ll put together and option for you.
The cost of the programme is €600. Four guests can be welcomed onto each boat.

Given the unique nature of the event we’d love to chat with you and your group prior to booking. The experience onboard can be tailored depending on the groups previous sailing experience and we also would love to know which aspect of the programme most interests you.
