Module 6 – Pre-Entry & First Aid

First Aid Course 

One of the pre-requisites for the RYA Dinghy Instructor Course is to hold a first aid certificate. Some candidates may have prior first aid training. It is important to check that each certificate meets the requirements: 

  • A one-day (or equivalent course) 
  • Covers CPR and AED Use 
  • Covers Hypothermia and Cold Shock

It’s unusual for courses not to meet these requirements, but the quickest way to check is to look at the material handed out on the course and send a copy of the certificate to us to review. 

If the candidate already holds a valid first aid cert, they do not need to attend the course. 

If candidates need to obtain a first aid cert, we have two courses running one on Saturday 25th March (10am-4pm) and one Sunday 26th March (10am-4pm). 

There will be no on water training on Sunday 26th March.
